Easy Elegance: Steam-Shaped Pleat Curtains

Memory fabrics help reduce wrinkles and maintain a smooth appearance, eliminating the need for frequent ironing.

What is Steam Shaping?

Steam Shaping is a technique that helps curtains retain their structured pleats, giving them a refined and polished look. By setting a "memory" in the fabric, it ensures your drapes stay neatly pleated whether open or closed, enhancing the overall aesthetic of your space. Through steaming, pressing, and setting, this process provides long-lasting elegance with minimal maintenance.

Why Choose Steam Shaping?

Shaping curtains ensures that pleats remain structured, requiring less manual adjustment while maintaining a sophisticated look.

Comparison: Steam-Shaped vs. Non-Steam Shaped Drapery

  • Steam-Shaped Drapery: Consistent, smooth, low maintenance, symmetrical, non-toxic.
  • Non-Steam Shaped Drapery: Inconsistent, casual, requires more adjustments, flexible, natural appearance.

EZcurtain’s Steam Shaping technology helps fabric maintain a crisp vertical flow, preventing sagging or loss of form over time.

How EZcurtain Shapes Drapery

To meet high standards of quality, aesthetics, and durability, EZcurtain employs a precise Steam Shaping process:

  1. Prepare shaping molds.
  2. Insert drapes into molds.
  3. Load molds onto the shaping rack.
  4. Move the rack into the steam chamber.
  5. Secure the steamer and begin the process.
  6. Steam at high temperature for 2 hours.
  7. Remove and cool the drapes, ensuring a refined texture and structure.

Important Notes

  • Maximum Curtain Size: 160 inches (Width) × 246 inches (Length).
  • Unsupported Header Styles: Inverted box pleat, rod pocket, grommet, back tape, flat hooks, 4-in-1, tab top, ripple fold.
  • Shipping: Curtains are carefully folded and packed to preserve their shape during transportation. While the shaping process minimizes wrinkles, minor creases from packaging may occur. To restore their form, hang the curtains immediately and steam or iron if needed.
