Step 1: Measure the Width (Determine Rod/Track Length and Placement)
If the rod is already installed, measure its length and record the measurement.
If the rod is not yet installed, decide where it will be mounted above and on the sides of the window frame. Consider the placement to achieve the desired visual effect.
Height Above the Window Frame: Curtain rods are typically installed 6-10 inches above the window frame to create the illusion of a taller window. Lightly mark this height with a pencil or use masking tape as a guide.
Width Beyond the Window Frame: Extend the rod 6-15 inches beyond each side of the window frame to allow space for the curtain stack. Lightly mark these points with a pencil or masking tape.

Step 2: Understanding EZcurtain Default Fullness
To prevent draperies from looking flat like a stretched sheet, fullness is added to certain header styles to achieve a richer appearance.
Pleated Styles:
2x Fullness for pinch pleat, tailor pleat, inverted pleat, and goblet styles.
2.3x Fullness for triple pleat and triple tailor pleat styles.

Soft Top and Grommet Styles:
The default fullness is 1 (or 100%). However, for a more gathered look, a fullness of 150-200% is recommended.
- 1.5 times the rod width for a moderate gather.
- 2 times the rod width for a fuller, more opulent appearance.
- The fullness ratio varies based on the header style and personal preference.
- Determine how many panels are needed to achieve the desired fullness.

Step 3: Determining Drapery Finished Width and Length
Pleated Style:
Single Panel Width (when pleats are sewn): The ordered width.
Example: If the rod is 100 inches long, order two panels of 50 inches each for pinch pleat style.
Drapery panel width is measured from the first pleat to the last pleat when fully extended, not when stacked.
Length is measured from the curtain hook's eyelet ring.
Fabric fullness: 200%
Stacked width accounts for approximately 20% of the ordered panel width.

Soft Top Style:
Single Panel Width (fully extended): The ordered width.
Example: If the rod is 100 inches, order two panels of 100 inches each for back tab style with 200% fullness.
Length is measured from the top of the curtain to the bottom.
Works with rods up to 1.6 inches in diameter.
Fabric fullness: 200%
Stacked width accounts for approximately 20% of the panel width after folds.

Important Notes:
- Your custom drapery will be made to the width and length you specify.
- Headers including pinch pleat, triple pinch pleat, back tab, and tailor pleat styles will come with adjustable pin hooks. Drapery rings or clip rings must be purchased separately.
- Use a steel tape measure, measuring to the nearest 1 inch in width and length.
- Measure each window and doorway individually.
- Fullness perception varies. Some prefer a relaxed drape, while others want a more gathered look. Consider your style preference when selecting the fullness factor.
