How to Measure for Soft Top and Grommet Curtains

Width Measurement

The default fullness for both styles is 1x (100%), but for a more gathered and luxurious look, you can opt for:

• 1.5x the rod width for moderate gathers

• 2x the rod width for rich, opulent fullness

Tip from EZcurtain: The fullness ratio is based on personal style and room aesthetics. For a more tailored or hotel-style look, we recommend aiming for 200% fullness.

To calculate how many panels you’ll need:

• Divide your total desired width (based on the fullness) by the width of one panel.

• Example: For a rod that’s 100", if you want 200% fullness, you’ll need 200" of total panel width (e.g., 2 panels of 100" each).

Length Measurement

• Measure from the top of the curtain rod to the desired bottom point (floor, sill, etc.)

• EZcurtain recommends accounting for where you want the curtain to "kiss" the floor — just touching, puddling, or hovering slightly.

Additional Notes for Each Style

Soft Top Curtains (Back Tab / Rod Pocket):

• Best for rods up to 1.6 inches in diameter

• Fabric fullness built-in: typically 200%

• Stacked width (when open) takes up approx. 20% of panel width
